유 씨는 “주변을 둘러봐도 병원이나 약국이 눈에 띄지 않았는데 스마트폰 앱을 통해 주변에 가까이 있는 병원과 약국의 전화번호와 위치는 물론, 진료과목과 의사까지 알려주니 너무 편리했다”고 말했다.
최근 스마트폰의 열풍과 함께 병원에 가지 않고 스마트폰만으로 건강관리를 할 수 있는 건강 정보 앱들이 반드시 설치해야 할 필수 앱으로 자리 잡고 있다.
어려운 의료 및 건강정보를 한 눈에 알아보기 쉽게 보여줄 뿐 아니라 스마트폰을 통해 의사와 상담을 할 수 있고 건강검진은 어떻게 받아야 하는지 알려준다. 또 길을 가다가 갑자기 병원이나 약국을 찾고 싶을 때 혹은 방금 처방받은 약이 안전한 것인지도 그 자리에서 확인할 수 있다.
특히 건강보험심사평가원에서 만든 ‘건강정보’ …최근 인기를 끌며 우리 집 주치의 역할을 톡톡히 해내고 있다.
◇ 6만곳 병원과 2만곳 약국이 한눈에=건강보험심사평가원(이하 심평원)은 지난 10월 초 전국의 6만개 이상 병원과 2만여개 약국에 대해 방대한 정보를 담고 있는 ‘건강정보’ 애플리케이션을 출시했다.
이 앱은 한국인터넷전문가협회 주관으로 17일 롯데호텔 그랜드볼룸에서 열린 ‘웹어워드 코리아2010’에서 ‘건강정보’ 모바일 앱 서비스 부문 통합대상을 수상해 더욱 눈길을 끌고 있다.
건강정보 앱의 가장 큰 특징은 여타 앱보다 방대한 정보에 있다. 전국의 6만개 이상 병원과 2만1000개 이상 약국에 대한 정보를 담고 있으며 항생제 및 주사제 처방률, 제왕절개 분만율, 급성심근경색증, 급성기 뇌졸중 등 항목에 대한 심평원의 병원 평가 결과가 함께 제공돼 주부나 아이, 고령자들의 병원 방문 전에 유용한 팁이 될 수 있는 것.
증강현실(augmented reality) 기술을 적용, 이용자 주변을 스마트폰으로 비추면 병원ㆍ약국과 거리, 지도상의 위치, 주소, 전화번호, 진료과목, 의사 수, 병실 수 등 다양한 정보를 한 눈에 알 수 있는 것도 장점이다.
심평원 홍보실 김무성 과장은 이 앱을 한마디로 ‘하이브리드(hybrid) 앱’이라고 정의했다. 내가 처방 받은 약이 안전한 것인지 약품명을 조회하면 바로 볼 수 있는 ‘DUR 기능’을 비롯, 심장·뇌혈관질환 등 지병이 있거나 위험한 일이 닥쳤을 때 자신의 위치 정보를 담은 메시지를 119로 즉시 보낼 수 있는 ‘긴급신고 119’ 기능까지 들어있어 다양한 기능들로 효용을 높였다는 설명이다.
아울러 모바일 매거진 ‘건강나래’도 함께 들어 있어 단순히 정보를 조회하거나 검색하는 일반 앱들과 달리 이용자들에게 다채로운 재미를 선사한다는 것. 건강정보 앱은 아이폰 앱스토어에서 다운로드 받을 수 있으며 안드로이드용 앱은 현재 개발 중이다.
김 과장은 “10월 6일 최초 등록돼 11월 말까지 약 1만3338건이 다운로드 됐으며 하루 평균 243명 가량이 다운로드 할 정도로 관심이 높은 편”이라면서 “이제 반드시 병원에 가지 않고도 스마트폰으로 건강관리를 하고 전문의와 소통할 수 있는 시대가 됐다”고 말했다.

The Health Information App of Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) won Grand Prize in the sector of Health Information mobile app service in Web Award Korea 2010.

But since I started to use the smart phone app, I have easily found the telephone numbers and locations of near hospitals and pharmacies as well as medical treatment subjects and even doctors. It is so convenient.”
Recently, together with the smart phone craze, health information apps by which you can care your health just with your smart phone without the need to go to hospital have got settled as a must app.
They not only show you information of difficult medical treatment and health so as to be instantly recognized but also let you know how to consult with doctors and get medical checkup. Besides, if you suddenly need to find a hospital or pharmacy on the street or check the safety of prescribed drugs right before, you can get the result you want immediately.
Especially, the ‘Health Information App’ made by HIRA has recently caught popularity and played the role of a family practitioner a lot.
◇ Finding more than 60,000 hospitals and 20,000 pharmacies at once = Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (hereinafter ‘HIRA’) released the ‘Health Information’ application which contains huge information about more than 60,000 hospitals and 20,000 pharmacies across the country in the beginning of last October.
This app attracts public gaze by winning Grand Prize in the sector of ‘Health Information’ mobile app service in Web Award Korea 2010 held in the grand ballroom of Lotte Hotel on the 17th supervised by KIPFA (Korean Internet Professionals Association).
The greatest characteristic of Health Information app lies on that it contains huge information more than other apps, with information of more than 60,000 hospitals and 21,000 pharmacies across the country and the results of hospital evaluation by HIRA for the items including prescription rate of antibiotics and injections, cesarean delivery rate, acute myocardial infarction and acute phase stroke, so as to be useful tips for housewives, children and seniors before they visit hospitals.
With application of the technology of augmented reality, when turning your smart phone to your surroundings, you can obtain information such as distance to hospitals or pharmacies, location on the map, addresses, telephone numbers, subjects of treatment, number of doctors and hospital rooms.
Kim Moo-seong, assistant manager of the PR department of HIRA briefly defined this app as a hybrid app. He also explained that the app increases its utility with many functions including ‘DUR function’ that when you search the name of prescribed drug, you can immediately check whether the drug is safe or not and ‘emergency notification 119’ by which you can immediately send a message of your location information to 119 when you have chronic disease such as heart disease and cerebrovascular disorders.
Besides, ‘Health Narae’, a mobile magazine, is also included in this app and presents varied fun to users, unlike general apps which are simply used to search information. The Health Information app can be downloaded from iPhone App Store and an app for Android is under development.
Mr. Kim said “since it was registered on October 6, a total of 13,338 cases have been downloaded. This app attracts so much interest that 243 users a day on the average download it” and “now, it is the age where you don’t need to go to hospital but just use your smart phone to care your health and communicate with specialists.”
