다이옥신 학술대회 번역(한국어 원본)○ 지난 23일부터 28일까지 중국 북경에서 개최된 제29회 다이옥신 국제학술대 회 (International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants, 이 하 DIOXIN)에서 대구가 경쟁도시인 스페인 마드리드와, 이탈리아 밀라노를 제 치고 “2013년 다이옥신국제학술대회(DIOXIN2013)” 개최지로 확정되었다.
○ 다이옥신학술대회 개최기간 중 23일과 27일 두 차례에 걸친 국제자문위원회 이사회( International Advisory Board Meeting)를 통해 2013년 개최지 선정이 치열하게 논의되었고 지난 27일 2차 임원 회의에서 2차 투표까지 가는 접전 끝에 스페인을 8:7로 꺾고 2013년 개최지로 대구를 최종 확정 지었다.
○ 이번 행사 유치를 위해 국제다이옥신학회 한국지회장 양재호교수(대구가톨 릭의대 약리학)를 비롯하여 대구시, 국제회의 유치전담기구인 대구컨벤션뷰로 등에서 유치단을 구성하여 북경현지에서 국제자문위원회 및 학회참가자들을 대상으로 유치활동을 펼쳤으며, 이번 학회의 유치성공은 대구 유치의 당위성 및 대구의 적극적인 지원 등을 표명한 결과라 할 수 있겠다. 특히 예년과 다 르게 더욱 치열했던 유치경쟁 속에, 대륙별 순회라는 선례를 깨고 이 분야 선 진국인 유럽국가들을 제치고 이뤄낸 성과라 2013 년 한국개최는 더욱 이례적 결과로 받아들여지고 있다.
○ 다이옥신 국제학술대회는 30년 역사를 지닌 환경오염물질관련 세계 최대 규 모와 권위의 학술대회로 매년 세계 40여 개국 1,000명의 전문가들의 참가한 가운데 각국을 순회하며 다이옥신 등 잔류성 유기오염 물질에 대한 각국의 연구결과를 발표하고 있다. 특히, 올해 중국 대회는 총 43개국에서 1,100여명 이 참석하여 해마다 늘어가는 각 국가들의 환경오염 물질에 대한 높은 관심 도를 반영하고 있다.
○ 2013년 총 6일간 대구에서 개최될 DIOXIN2013은 2001년 경주에서 개최되었 던 국제다이옥신 학술대회(조직위원장 양재호교수)의 성공적인 개최 경험을 바탕으로 더욱 내실있는 행사를 준비할 예정이며, 이분야 연구가 활발한 일 본과 중국에서 더 많은 참가자가 참여하여 이를 통해 유럽과 미국 중심의 다 이옥신 연구 분야가 아시아 지역으로 확대할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다. |
다이옥신 학술대회 번역(영어 번역본)○ Daegu was given the honor of hosting DIOXIN 2013 over Madrid Spain and Milan Italy. This decision was made at the International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants, DIOXIN in Beijing China that was held from 23rd to 28th last month.
○ The above decision was hotly debated for two days on 23rd and 27th by the International Advisory Board and during the 2nd meeting on 27th, Daegu was chosen over Spain by the 8:7 vote. The fact that the vote had to run twice shows how close the decision was.
○ Professor Jae Ho Yang (Daegu Catholic University School of Medicine, Pharmacology), who is the President of Korea International Dioxin Convention led the team from the city of Daegu and Daegu Convention Bureau etc for the bidding of this event. This team actively publicized the city of Daegu to the committee members and the symposium participants in Beijing China and their successful bid goes to show the validity in Daegu hosting this event and the active support given by the city of Daegu. ○ The International Symposium on DIOXIN is one of the world’s biggest academic event with a proud history of 30 years in the field of environmental pollutants. Annually, 1000 experts from 40 countries get together to give presentation on the studies carried out in the field of Dioxin and other residual pollutants by each country.
