○ Grouper는 국제적 고부가가치 어종(USD 20~50/kg), 국제시장규모 약 10조원
○ 국제 멸종보호종 CITES협약에 의해 자연산체포 금지로 양식 생산을 통한 공급이 필요하게 됨
○ 국제적으로 인공종묘생산 기술은 발전되지 못한 상황이며, 대만이 기술 선진국이나 단위사업장으로서는 본 협동조합이 유일하게 대만의 기술수준을 능가하고 있는 상태임
○ 미얀마는 해양기후와 소비시장 인접 국가로 Grouper 생산이 적합한 국가이나 인프라와 기술 수준이 매우 미약한 상태임
○ 따라서 본 협동조합과 미얀마 정부가 공동으로 Grouper 종자 생산 기술 및 전문 인력 양성을 위한 거점센터를 운영할 필요가 있음

1) Necessity of research
○ Grouper is an international high value breed(USD 20~50/kg), and the international market size is approximately 10 trillion won
○ Supply through aquaculture production is needed due to prohibition of wild grouper catching according to the international endangered species CITES agreement
○ Internationally, artificial seed production technology has not been able to be developed, and although Taiwan is a technologically advanced country, our cooperative is the only business unit to surpass the level of Taiwan
○ Myanmar has oceanic climate and has close consumption market, making it an ideal country for grouper production, but is extremely weak in terms of infrastructure and technology level
○ Therefore, there is a need for our cooperative and Myanmar’s government to jointly operate a base center for grouper seed production technology and expert training
○ By supporting the government(Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Affairs)’s active effort to develop grouper farming, there is a need to form a aquaculture technology and research network between Korea and Myanmar and to establish a sustainable development of ODA business
