Women are looking at jewelry. A few men, perhaps employees, are huddled in the corner of the store, carving jewelry.. A warm-hearted looking middle aged man is seen holding a loupe and appraising the value of a piece of jewelry before exiting the store.
(While stretching) Boy, I’m tired… When can I get a break!
The jewelry store owner, John, pulls a cigarette from his pocket. Just then, a bushy-bearded merchant approaches, leading several horses weighed down with large burlap sacks.
Hmm, looks like he’s got some valuable jewelry. I’ll have to see what I can do to get a bargain.
Hello, I’m Jack the merchant from the neighboring village. I would like to meet the owner of the shop.
(Greeting warmly) Come in, come in. I’m John, the owner of this establishment. Pardon my asking, but what have you brought in on those horses?
Jack pulls out several large, attractive diamonds from a burlap sack.
The sacks are all filed with these diamonds.
John takes the loupe from his pocket and examines a diamond.

Customers inside the jewelry shop are now looking at the diamonds and whispering. John counts the full sacks on the horses.
(Nodding) Great, so how much do you need? I need 3000 francs.
