학회 통합 후 첫 연례국제학술대회를 개최합니다. 대형 학회들이 통합한 첫 사례로 기록된 우리 생화학분자생물학회가 처음으로 개최하는 역사적인 대회입니다. 국내 생명과학계 최고 최대 최상의 학회로 새롭게 출범하는 통합 학회의 높아진 위상에 걸맞게 금년 연례학술대회를 매우 성대하게 준비하였으니 부디 참가하시어 뿌듯한 보람을 느끼시기 바랍니다.

2010년 5월 17일(월)부터 19일(수)까지 3일간 서울 코엑스에서 개최하는 이번 국제학술대회에, 가장 최근인 2009년도 노벨상을 수상한 Yonath 박사를 비롯하여 1989년도 노벨상 수상자 Altman 박사, 2002년도 노벨상 수상자 Wuthrich 박사, 세 분의 ‘노벨상 수상자의 강연’, 2007년도 노벨상 수상자 Smithies 박사의 ‘젊은 과학자들과의 만남’을 마련하였습니다.

또한, 스웨덴의 Berggren 박사, 캐나다의 Nagy 박사, 미국의 Hahn 박사, Karsenty 박사, Ravichandran 박사와 Schlessinger 박사의 기조강연을 비롯하여, 세계적 석학들의 초청발표인 여러 심포지엄, 질병관리본부와의 공동심포지엄, 한국분자세포생물학회와의 공동심포지엄, 대한심장학회와의 공동심포지엄, 학술상 수상 및 기념강연, 워크샵 등을 통해 다양한 연구 성과가 발표될 예정입니다. 특별히 올해는 임상의와 대학원생을 대상으로 하는 교육세션을 여러 가지 주제로 준비하였습니다.

2010년도 운영진이 성심 성의껏 마련한 이 연례국제학술대회에 회원들께서 많이 참가하시어 크게 빛내 주시기를 기대합니다.

Greetings from the President
I am glad to inform you that the first integrated Annual International Conference will be held. This is a historic event organized by the Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which, for the first time, has integrated large-scale conferences. We hope you will join us and enjoy the grand event, which we organized with enhanced reputation as an integrated conference, taking the first step as the best conference in Life Science in South Korea.

This three-day conference will be held at COEX in Seoul, South Korea from May 17 (Mon.) through 19 (Wed.), 2010, and the proceedings include speeches by three winners of the Nobel prize – Dr. Yonath, the latest winner of the Nobel prize in 2009, Dr. Altman, winner in 1989, and Dr. Wuthrich, winner in 2002, – and ‘young scientists meeting’ with Dr. Smithies, winner of the Nobel prize in 2007.

The event will also include keynote addresses by Dr. Berggren from Sweden, Dr. Nagy from Canada, and four speakers from the USA – Dr. Hahn, Dr. Karsenty, Dr. Ravichandran, and Dr. Schlessinger. Additionally, a range of research results will be presented through several symposiums such as invited presentations by the world’s top scholars and joint symposiums with the Center for Disease Control, the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology, and the Korean society of Cardiology, academic awards, memorial lectures, and workshops. Also, education sessions with a variety of topics will be specially provided for medical doctors and graduates.
