원자력 발전소에서 기술자로 일하시는 성실하고 자상하신 아버지와 가정적이고 밝은 성격의 어머니 밑에서 평범하고 구김 없이 밝게 자라왔습니다. 유년시절에는 아버지의 직업 특성상 자주 다른 지역으로 발령이 나서 전학을 자주 다니게 되었습니다. 전학을 자주 다니다 보니 많은 친구들과 사람들을 만나게 되었습니다. 그러다 보니 낯가리지 않고 누구나 금방 친해질 수 있는 밝은 성격을 가지게 되었습니다. IMF 시절 저희 아버지가 다니시던 원자력에서 해고 되시고 집에서 쉬시게 되었는데, 그 때 아버지는 다음 직장을 구하기 전까지 가족을 생각하며 몰래 새벽에 나가서 막노동을 하고 저녁 늦게 돌아오시곤 하셨습니다. 그 때 그런 아버지를 보며 책임감을 배우게 되었습니다. 직장 생활을 하게 되면 가장 갖추어야 할 것은 사람들과 잘 어울리는 밝은 성격과 일에 대한 책임감이라고 생각합니다. 저의 이러한 것들이 호텔리어로서 많은 도움이 될 것이라고 생각합니다.

I was raised as a bright and ordinary kid by an earnest and caring father and a loving and cheerful mother. My dad was a nuclear power plant technician who was appointed to different areas frequently. For that, I had to transfer to new schools often and this enabled me to meet many friends and people. This is why I have a bright personality that can get along with anyone in a short period. During the IMF, my father was fired from the nuclear power plant company and was unemployed. During his unemployment, he would secretly go out at dawn to do manual labor and come back late at night, for his family. I learned to become a responsible person through my father. I think the most important virtues in a workplace are a bright personality to blend in with one’s coworkers and a sense of responsibility. I believe that these qualities of mine will help me become a better hotelier.
– Social Activities –
I have had various part-time jobs since I became an adult. At first, I was an assistant server at a Korean restaurant, a sales clerk at a clothing store and jewelry store, and a barista at a café. At first, I did not know how to face, treat, or talk to customers and felt awkward. Nevertheless, though I started out like this, I learned how to enjoy my job and became skilled at it after meeting many customers. Such social experiences of mine taught me many lessons.
– Why I am Applying –
I felt rewarding about serving a customer and providing services while working part-time in the service sector. That is why I chose to become a hotel management major and enjoyed learning about services at school. I learned a lot especially through my part-time jobs. I think a service mindset is the most important virtue in an hotelier.
