저시력 번역(한국어 원본)인터넷의 환경에서 장애인과 비장애인의 정보격차를 좁히기 위한 방안으로 제기되고 있는 웹 접근성에 대한 연구는 그동안 앞을 전혀 볼 수 없는 전맹인 시각장애인을 중심으로 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 색맹과 약시 등의 저시력 장애인에게 보다 나은 웹 사용과 개발 환경을 제공하기 위한 디자인 요소를 제안하고자 하였다.
본 연구의 연구문제는 첫째, 저시력 장애인의 웹 사이트 이용 시 장애를 갖는 요인은 무엇인가, 둘째, 저시력 장애인의 웹 접근성 행상을 위한 디자인방안은 무엇인가, 셋째, 국내 상위 대학병원의 웹사이트 접근 시 장애를 보이는 디자인 요소는 무엇인지로 설정하였다.
먼저, 디자인 요소를 살펴보기에 앞서 저시력 장애인을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하여 웹 사이트의 이용의 장애요인을 도출하였다. 그리고 기술적 점검·평가 방식이었던 기존의 웹 접근성 평가 체크리스트를 저시력 장애인의 장애요인에 맞게 재구성하여 웹 접근성 체크리스트를 제작하였다.
분석방법은 15개 대학병원 웹 사이트를 선정해 자동 평가 프로그램과 저시력 웹 접근성 체크리스트로 평가하여 문제점을 분석한 후 접근성 개선방안을 제시하였다. 대학병원 웹 사이트의 디자인 요소에 대한 웹 접근성 준수실태를 조사한 결과 15개의 대학병원 웹사이트가 모두 저조한 준수율을 기록하였고, 특히 색상을 이용한 정보 표현부분과 텍스트 가독성 부분의 개선이 시급한 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석을 통해 대학병원 웹사이트에 장애인의 접근이 용이하도록 웹 접근성을 갖춘 개편이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
결론적으로 웹 접근성 향상을 위해서는 세밀한 웹 디자이너의 역할이 요구되며, 본 연구에서 제시한 웹 사이트 디자인 요소들이 웹 접근성 향상에 유용할 것으로 기대된다. 향후 연구에서는 장애유형별로 보다 세분화된 디자인 요소가 구분되어져야 할 것이며, 보다 다양한 저시력 장애인층을 대상으로 한 조사가 이루어져야 할 것이다. |
저시력 번역(영어 번역본)The studies about web approachability to close the information gap between the disabled and the normal people are being carried out with total blind people in focus. Therefore, in this study, the design factors to make better web usage and development environment available for the disabled with poor sights such as color blindness and eye sights will be proposed.
The questions for this study are as the following; firstly, what are the disabling factors when the poor sighted disabled try to access the web, secondly, what is the design plan to enhance the web approachability for disabled, thirdly, what are the disabling design factors among the top Korean university hospitals’ web sites?
Firstly, prior to reviewing the design factors, the interviews were carried out with the poor sighted disabled people, and disabling factors for web site usage were identified. Then the traditional evaluation checklist for web approachability that was designed for technical evaluation was re-designed for the poor sighted disabled.
In terms of the method of analysis, 15 university hospitals’ websites were selected and self evaluation program and the poor eyesight’s web approachability checklist evaluation were carried out, after which the proposals for enhancement for web approachability were made. The evaluation for the status of web approachability corresponding to the university hospitals’ websites’ design factors showed that all 15 websites scored poor scores for approachability. In particular, the information expressions using color and the legibility for text were in need of urgent improvements. Such analysis showed that improvements for web approachability of university hospitals’ websites for the poor sighted disabled are definitely needed.
In conclusion, in order to improve the web approachability, it could be seen that web designer’s more detailed role, and the factors proposed in this study for website design are expected to enhance the web approachability. In future studies, more detailed design factors than the types of disabled should be classified and more diversified review should be carried out with poor sighted disabled as the target. |
