경상북도는 섬서성과 실크로드 협력 파트너쉽 증진을 위한 자매결연을 체결했다.
코리아 실크로드 프로젝트를 추진 중인 경상북도가 실크로드의 중심인 중국과의 전략적인 국제협력 틀을 강화했다.
경북도는 4일부터 양일 간 실크로드 프로젝트의 일환으로 운영 중인 대한민국 경상북도 실크로드 탐험대의 성공과 함께 실크로드 경제통상 길의 개척과 성과 실현을 위한 ‘실크로드 그랜드 바자르 행사’를 중국 섬서성 서안에서 개최했다.
이번 행사는 경상북도와 섬서성이 공동주최하고 주서안총영사관의 협조 하에 중국 현지에서 축하 내빈들이 참가한 가운데 성황리에 개최됐다.
이와 관련, 도는 4일에는 실크로드 탐험대 입성식을 가졌고, 5일 서안에서 열린 제17회 중국 동서부 경제 박람회에 외국기업관 중 최대 규모로 참가했으며, 섬서성과 실크로드 협력 파트너쉽 증진을 위한 자매결연을 체결했다.
이날 자매결연 체결식에는 양측 정부 관계자와 함께 경북도의회 송필각 의장 및 기획경제위원, 삼성 반도체 현지 법인장, 황찬식 재중한인회장, 경북도 중국 해외자문위원 등 현지 대표와 경북도의 중국 네트워크가 대규모로 참석했다.
특히 자매결연 지역인 섬서성은 현 중국 국가주석인 시진핑의 고향이자 서부대개발 정책의 중심 지역이기도 하며 실크로드의 국제적 거점지역이라 그 의미가 더욱 특별하다.
또 중국 동서부 경제 박람회는 중국 서부 최대 경제 도시인 서안에서 열리는 경제통상 행사로, 도는 이번 박람회에 지역 대표기업인 실라리안•프라이드 기업, 친환경 기업 등 20개 기업과 경북 투자유치 부스, 경북 관광 부스 등으로 이뤄진 경북관을 대규모로 운영했다.
박람회 개막식에서는 김관용 경북도지사와 루근검 섬서성장이 함께 중국 중앙 정관계 주요인사와 각 지방 성정부 대표 등으로 구성된 VIP참석자들을 직접 경북관으로 안내해 지역기업과 상품 등을 소개하기도 했다.
김관용 경북도지사는 “인류문명과 역사의 길을 잇는 실크로드 동반자 관계 구축과 경제통상 길의 개척은 한국 실크로드의 새지평을 열고 새로운 역사를 만드는 천년의 여정이며, 실크로드 탐험대는 대한민국 문화 대장정의 성공을 의미하는 것”이라고 강조했다.
아울러 “이번 행사를 통해 문화•경제통상 등이 어우러진 국제교류 협력의 새로운 기틀을 마련했다고 본다”며 “앞으로 중국과의 국제교류 협력이 상호 실질적 성과를 낼 수 있도록 내실을 기하겠다”고 말했다. 독도지킴이 독도사랑회, 독도평화대상 수상

제1회 독도평화대상 수상자로 지난 2002년부터 ‘독도학당’을 개설해 다문화가정, 군부대 등을 방문교육하고, 전국 독도순회 전회 등을 개최한 (사)독도지킴이 독도사랑회가 선정됐다.
25일 MBC 공개홀에서 열린 시상식에서는 독도지킴이 독도사랑회 외에도 지난 44년간 일본 내 독도 관련 고문서와 고지도 등 자료를 발굴•연구해 현재 독도 연구의 기틀을 마련한 최서면(85) 국제한국연구원장이 ‘우산봉(동도)상’을 받았다.
또 2009년 전국 1만3천여 회원의 모금으로 독도 동도에 친환경 태양광 발전 설비와 가로등을 설치한 한국전기공사협회가 ‘대한봉(서도)상’을 수상했다.
이날 시상식에 참석한 김관용 경상북도지사는 “독도에는 지금 이 시간에도 태극기가 힘차게 휘날리고 있다”며 “아름다운 섬 독도를 문화예술의 섬으로 가꾸어 세계인들의 가슴에 새기겠다”고 말했다.
아울러 “독도 방문을 위한 어려운 여건에도 불구하고, 지금까지 100만 명이 독도를 직접 방문했다. 국민들의 뜨거운 독도사랑에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 아베 총리를 비롯한 정치권이 앞 다퉈 독도 영유권을 주장하는 것에 대해 일본의 올바른 역사 인식을 촉구했다.
한편, 독도평화대상은 이병석 국회부의장이 이사장으로 있는 ‘독도평화재단’이 독도에 대한 국민적 관심을 높이기 위해 제정했으며, 경북도가 후원하고 있다. |

Gyeongsangbuk-do entered into a sisterhood relationship with Shaanxi Province for promotion of the Silk Road partnership.
Gyeongsangbuk-do, which is pushing ahead with the Korean Silk Road project, reinforced its international strategic cooperative framework with China, the center of the Silk Road.
For 2 days from April 4, Gyeongsangbuk-do held the ‘Silk Road Grand Bazaar Event’ in Xian, Shaanxi Province, China for the development and success of the Silk Road of economy and trade as well as the success of the Silk Road Expedition of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea as part of the Silk Road project.
This event, jointly hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Shaanxi Province with the cooperation of the Korean Consulate General in Xian, was a great success with the participation of distinguished Chinese guests.
In connection with this event, Gyeongsangbuk-do held the kick-off ceremony for the Silk Road Expedition on April 4, and opened the largest foreign business pavilion at the 17th Eastern and Western China Economy Expo, which was held on April 5 in Xian, and singed a sisterhood relationship with Shaanxi Province for promoting the Silk Road partnership.
At the sisterhood relationship ceremony the government officials of the two countries, Pil-Gak Chairman of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Assembly, a member of the Planning and Economy Committee of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Assembly, the country manager of the local subsidiary of Samsung Semiconductor, Chan-Sik Hwang Chairman of the Association of Korean Residents in China, local representatives including the Chinese advisers of Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the Chinese network of Gyeongsangbuk-do.
In particular, it is all the more significant because the sister province, i.e. Shaanxi Province, is the birthplace of Xi Jinping, the current Chinese President, and the great Western Development Policy, and the international foothold of the Silk Road.
Also, the Eastern and Western China Economy Expo is an economy and trade event held in Xian, the largest economic city in Western China. Gyeongsangbuk-do operated the large-scale Gyeongsangbuk-do Pavilion at this expo. The pavilion consisted of 20 representative enterprises of Gyeongsangbuk-do, i.e. Sillarian and Pride businesses, and eco-friendly enterprises, the booth for attracting investments in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the Gyeongsangbuk-do tourism booth.
During the opening ceremony of the expo, Kim Kwan-Yong Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Lu Qin Jian Governor of Shaanxi Province took the VIPs, consisting of key politicians and officials of the central Chinese government and the representatives of different provincial governments of China, to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Pavilion, and introduced local enterprises and products.
Kim Kwan-Yong Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do said with emphasis “the building of the Silk Road Partnership that connects the road of human civilization and history, and development of the road of economy and trade is a thousand-year journey for opening a new horizon for the Korean Silk Road and making a new history, and the Silk Road Expedition means the success of the Long March of Korean culture.”
“I believe this event laid a new foundation for international exchange and cooperation stressing the harmony among culture, economy and trade,” said the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do. “I will try and enrich the substance so that the international exchange and cooperation with China will make mutually beneficial results.” Dokdo Guardian Dokdo Love Association receives Dokdo Peace Award

Dokdo Guardian Dokdo Love Association was selected as the recipient of the 1st Dokdo Peace Award in recognition of its effort in running the ‘Dokdo School’ since 2002, visiting multi-culture households and military bases to educate people about the island, and hosting Dokdo tours.
Along with Dokdo Guardian Dokdo Love Association, Choi Seo Meon(85), head of International Korea Research Institute, who has paved the foundation of modern Dokdo research by discovering and researching ancient Dokdo-related documents and maps in Japan for the past 44 years, received the ‘Usanbong(East Island) Award’ at the award ceremony held at the MBC Concert Hall on April 25th.
Also, Korea Electrical Contractors Association, which 13,000 members across the country raised money in 2009 to install environment-friendly photovoltaic power generation facilities and streetlights on the East Island, was awarded the ‘Daehanbong(West Island) Award’.
Gyeongsangbuk-do governor Kim Kwan-Yong, who attended the ceremony, said that “the Korean flag is still proudly waving at Dokdo to this moment” and that he will put effort to “develop our beautiful island Dokdo into a place for culture and art and appeal to the hearts of people around the world”.
The governor also remarked that “despite the conditions that make it difficult to go to Dokdo, a million people have visited the island so far. I sincerely thank the public for showing their warm love for Dokdo.”. With regards to Japanese Prime Minister Abe and his political regime’s aggressive claim of sovereignty over Dokdo, he urged Japan to embrace a proper historical awareness.
