In 1992, Jungsan High School was founded by the late Mr. (Jungsan) An Dong Jun, with a goal of fostering global talents. In 2011, the school was transformed into a general high school with English education know-hows accumulated from 20 years of Chungbuk school foreign language education and teachers who were passionate about educating talented students into global leaders. With the goal of education “to foster creative global talents fitted both with capabilities and humanity, Jungsan High School is conducting various programs with the full support of parents and teachers to ensure that the students can grow into humans with basic fundamentals.
What changes and achievements did we make in 2013?
The school education situation is changing everyday as the society changes. Our school has made steady efforts to create an educational environment with the best learning conditions. All the rooms have been wooden-floored and the subject classrooms (Korean, English, Math and Science), book cafe and computer room have been newly furnished to make the class rooms suitable for the variation type. In addition, school health room, lounge, and restroom have been renewed for students to use them conveniently.
Student have made lots of achievements as the school educational environment changed. We are the No.1 school in the utilization of Reading Education Total Support System in the Chungbuk region every month since last March. Last year we attracted the national press by positioning ourselves among the Top 20 in the Leaning Improvement Index and this year we earned fame as a school which finds no student placed in the ‘deficient’ category according to the outcome of scholastic achievement test.
We are reaping good fruits in various competitions thanks to the interest and efforts of our teachers. In the area of foreign languages, Kang Hye Yun (2-5) reached the finals in the Ban Ki Moon English Competition and gained the opportunity for language study in the USA next January. In the area of nature science, we received the Bronze Prize (Fusion Science) in National Science Olympiad Competition for Students, and Silver Prize (Earth Science), Bronze Prize (Mathematics) and Participation Prize (Chemistry) in Chungbuk Math Competition. In addition, we received more prizes in many other competitions.
As part of humanity cultivation and whole-person education, we established Jungsan Academy to inherit the spirit of “Hong-Ik-In-Gan(弘益人間) I-Hwa-Se-Gye(理化世界)”, which means “Benefit human widely and govern the world with order”, to make it the motto of our life, and to promote education activities that encourage the thoughts and souls of our people, which is based on the loyalty and filial piety.
What are the special education programs of our school?
Behind the students growing day by day were the efforts of passionate teachers and various support programs: personalized learning guide program that provides special classes for high ranked or low-ranked students, systematic career guidance through the aptitude test, foreign language proficiency improvement program that holds foreign language debate competitions, English learning program based on smart devices and apps, student exchange program with overseas sister schools, international class for the students who want to study abroad, and other programs for various creative experimental activities to help students grow into versatile global leaders.
We are focused on fostering global leaders who have upright character as well as capabilities.
