In this respect Care Management can be said to be the best way to realize the ideal of allowing various types of recipients to live in the local communities they are accustomed to. In other words, Care Management is a method of assistance that respects the self-determination and choice of the recipient, and for that matter, helps the recipient to be self-reliant. In recent years the growing tendency is to expand this concept of self-reliance to mean that one has to be responsible for determining one’s own way of living. In addition, it is clear that the purpose of Care Management is to support the recipient’s life in the local community, but an important point is how the recipient will improve the quality of his/her life as a result. That is, to ensure that the quality of life of the user in the framework of local community assistance, the care manager must enhance his/her communication capabilities, and be able to draw out the strengths in the given environment. This empirical study applied the self-care elements of the strength model which utilizes the will, ability, self-confidence and taste of the user as part of the Care Management mentioned above. |
