경상북도는 산, 바다, 계곡 등 천혜의 자연조건을 두루 갖춘 지역이다.
태백산맥, 소백산맥과 그 지맥, 동해로 주변지역과 경계를 이루며 전국에서 가장 원형에 가까운 형상을 취하고 있어 그 어느 지역보다도 관광자원이 풍부하다.

경북 안동시 성곡동 관광단지로 346-30에 위치한 유교랜드는 안동문화관광단지의 핵심시설이다.
한국 정신 문화의 뿌리인 유교문화를 스토리텔링화한 테마파크형 체험 전시센터로 유치원, 초‧중‧고교 학생단체와 가족단위 관광객들이 함께 즐기면서 배우는 에듀테인먼트(교육+놀이)공간으로 어려운 유교문화를 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 구성돼 있다.
현대의 복잡한 세상에서 타임터널을 통해 도착한 16세기 안동 대동마을, 선비의 성장과 삶의 일생을 소년 선비촌, 청년 선비촌, 중년 선비촌, 노년 선비촌, 참 선비촌 등 6개 관을 체험하며 관람객 스스로가 알아가는 체험관으로 마련돼 있다.
타임터널을 지나면 선비의 정원이 나오는데 이 곳은 체험관의 메인 로비 기능으로 휴식과 편의를 제공한다. 또 조선시대 산수화 정원, 인공폭포, 정자 등이 있다.
선비의 정원을 지나 대동마을에 들어서면 대동마을 사람들의 하루일상을 소개하는 디오라마 모형 영상을 관람할 수 있다. 소년 선비촌에서는 족보찾기, 촌수알기, 천자문 배우기, 삼강오륜 등의 체험이 마련돼 있으며, 움직이는 배를 타고 영상을 통해 심청이를 보며 효에 대한 의미를 되새겨 본다.
청년 선비촌에서는 천문, 의학, 성학십도, 사서삼경 등의 내용에 대해 배울 수 있으며, 여성군자인 소혜와후 한씨, 신사임당, 정부인 장계향 등을 확인 할 수 있다. 또 과거시험 체험코너도 마련돼 있다.
중년 선비촌은 선비들의 나라 호국정신을 배울 수 있으며, 노년 선비촌에서는 예로서 다스리던 조선시대 지방자치기관이었던 향청의 재판 과정을 볼 수 있다. 또 하회탈춤, 차전놀이, 전통악기, 수묵화 등을 체험할 수 있다.
참 선비촌에서는 선비의 길, 이승의 다리를 건너서, 선비의 죽음 등을 통해 상여행렬, 제사상 차리기, 묘비명, 가훈짓기 등의 체험 코너가 마련돼 있다.
5D 입체영상관에서는 스릴 넘치는 모험담이 360도 원통형 벽면에 특수효과를 포함한 다이나믹한 입체영상으로 펼쳐져 재미를 더한다.
유교랜드 관람시간은 하절기 오전 10시부터 오후 7시까지이며, 동절기 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지이다. 입장료는 어른 9000원, 청소년 8000원, 어린이7000원이며 안동시민은 어른 7000원, 청소년 6000원, 어린이5000원이다.
매주 월요일 휴관하며 연휴, 휴가철은 제외이다. 이용문의는 054-820-8800으로 하면 된다.

Kyungbuk Tourism Hotspot #3, Yugyo Land
Kyungbuk province is renowned for its natural environment endowed with mountains, seas, and valleys.
Bordering upon the Taebaek mountains, the Sobaek mountain range, and the Eastern Sea, Kyungbuk province best approximates a circular shape among all other provinces in the nation, and is the most abundant in tourism resources.
In order to guide travellers to sights brimming with nature’s beauty and inhabited by people who live in harmony with their environment and affection for humankind, I have decided to publish the “Kyungbuk Tourism Hotspots” series.
Yugyo Land – located at 346-30 Gwangwangdanji-ro, Sunggok-dong, Andong-si, Kyungbuk Province – is a crucial facility for the Andong Cultural Tourism Complex. It is a theme park / exhibition center which unfolds the Confucian culture underlying the Korean ethos via storytelling. In addition, its provides a unique Edutainment (education + entertainment) experience which allows preschool, elementary, middle, and high school student groups as well as family groups to experience the sophisticated Confucian culture in an easy and creative way.
Escaping the bustle of modern life, tourists can travel through a time tunnel to visit 16th century Andong’s Daedong Village, where they can experience firsthand the life of Sunbi – Korean Scholars – during each stage of their lives by passing through the six Sunbi Village exhibits: the Youth Sunbi Village, the Young Adult Sunbi Village, Mid-age Sunbi Village, Senior Sunbi Village, and True Sunbi Village.
Past the time tunnel, the scenery of the Sunbi’s garden unfolds. It functions as the facility’s main lobby to provide rest and other conveniences to its guests. Chosun Era landscape paintings, gardens, artificial waterfalls, and Korean belvedere’s are beautifully interlaid in this area to provide a unique Korean experience.
After passing by the Sunbi’s garden, visitors arrive at Daedong Village where they can view a Diorama image of its villagers living their daily lives.
At the Youth Sunbi Village, events such as genealogy searches, identifying relatives, and studying the Samkangohryun. Guests are invited to ride a boat while watching a short video clip of Simchung to learn the meaning of filial piety.
At the Young Adult Sunbi Village, villagers can learn a wide range of studies including astronomy, medicine, the Ten Teachings of Sunghak. They are also introduced to Korean women of virtue such as SoHaewahu Hanssi, Shinsaimdang, and Lady Jang Gyehyang. A section for experiencing the traditional State examination to screen government officials is also prepared for interested tourists.
At the Mid-age Sunbi Village, tourists can learn about the patriotic spirit of the nation’s forefathers, while at the Senior Sunbi Village, they can witness traditional trials conducted at Hyangchung – the regional autonomous institute of the Chosun era.
At the True Sunbi village, tourists are introduced to the underlying philosophy of the Sunbi by crossing over the bridge of “this world” into the Sunbi concept of the afterlife. Bier processions, ancestral rites table preparation, epitaphs, and family precepts are introduced in this section.
The 5D theatre displays the thrilling adventures of the Sunbi in a cylindrical screen utilizing vivid special effects and dynamic imagery, adding to the excitement and fun at Yugyo Land.
Opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer session, and 10:00 am to 6 p.m. during the winter session. Entrance fees are 9000 won for adults, 8000 won for young adults, 7000 won for children. For residents of Andong city, the prices are 7000 won for adults, 6000 won for young adults, and 5000 won for children.
