대구 대표축제인 ‘대구 동성로 축제’가 5월 22일부터 24일까지 대구 도심인 동성로 일대에서 열렸다. ‘동성로 상권 부활’이라는 주제로 열리는 이번 축제는 민간이 주도하는 대표축제로서 문화와 상권의 결합을 도모했다.

22일 열리는 개막 경축쇼에서는 한국, 일본, 미국 등 국내외 뮤지션들이 참여하는 국제 음악페스티벌이 열리는 등 이번 동성로 축제에서는 남녀노소 모두 즐길 수 있는 풍성한 체험이벤트 행사가 마련되었다. 메이크업쇼, 어린이뮤지컬, 동성로뷰티컬렉션, 동성로가요제 등 다채로운 이벤트가 축제기간동안 이어졌다. 한일극장에서 독립영화 ‘워낭소리’의 이충렬 감독과 함께 영화 ‘워낭소리’를 관람하고 계명문화대학 애니메이션 학생들의 작품도 상영하는 이벤트도 열렸다.

특히 이번 축제의 주관사 TCN 대구케이블방송 협력사인 일본 후지TV계열 이사가와현의 지역 민방 이시가와TV, 국내 음악방송 MTV 등에도 이번 축제의 이모저모가 방영되어 동성로 축제가 국내외에 적극적으로 홍보될 예정이다.

‘Daegu Dongsungno Festival’ was held from May 22^nd to 24^th in Dongsungno area in Daegu, which is a central part of Daegu city. Under the title, ‘Reviving the Dongsungno Commerce’, this festival led the way for an integration of culture and commerce.

There were many other interesting events for all to enjoy during this festival including the May 22^nd opening day ceremony where musicians from Korea, Japan and America performed in the music festival. Some of the events were make-up show, children’s musical, Dongsungno Beauty Collection, and Dongsungno Singing Festival. Also, at Hanil cinema, the movie by the director Chung Yeol Lee’s ‘Wanung Sori’ and the animation work by the students from Kyemyung University were also shown.

TCN Daegu Cable Broadcasting Service, the hosting company for this festival, Isagawa TV, a subsidiary of Fuji Japan and Korea MTV all broadcasted many of the events of this festival, so it is anticipated that this festival will draw a lot of publicity both within Korea and also overseas.
