이날 공연은 디자이너 앙드레김이 직접 무대로 나와 축제 개막을 축하하는 인사로 시작해, 오페라 여주인공을 주제로 한 ‘노르마, 정결한 여신이여’, ‘투란도트 공주의 설화’ 등 총 다섯 무대에서 175벌의 화려한 패션쇼를 펼쳤다. 특히 패션쇼의 하이라이트인 연예인 모델 연기에 한채영, 배수진 등이 출연, 피날레를 장식했다.
특별히 이날 로비에서 깜짝 공연이 펼쳐졌는데, 이 깐딴띠 남성앙상블이 오페라 투란도트 중 아리아 <공주는 잠 못 이루고 Nessun Dorma> 등을 불러 공연 전 분위기를 한껏 고조시키며 관객들에게 큰 박수를 받기도 했다.
앙드레김은 “대구국제오페라축제의 문을 여는 영광스런 무대를 맡아 가슴 떨리는 설렘으로 공연을 준비했다”며 “2009 대구국제오페라축제의 개막을 축하하며 좋은 소식들이 세계로 뻗어가길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, 2009 대구국제오페라축제는 <오페라, 도전과 희망을 꿈꾸다>란 주제로 10월 31일까지 44일간 대구오페라하우스 등지에서 오페라의 향연을 펼친다.
<오페라人패션>으로 한껏 들뜬 축제 열기의 바통을 받아 코리안팝스오케스트라의 <오페라 열린 음악회>가 23일 코오롱야외음악당에서 무료로 열린다. 이어 5개의 오페라 공연이 일주일에 한 편씩 무대에 올려진다. 대구국제오페라축제조직위원회와 대구시립오페라단의 합작 <투란도트>, 독일 칼스루에국립극장의 <마탄의 사수>, 고양, 대구, 대전 3개 극장 합작 <사랑의 묘약>, 포항오페라단의 창작오페라 <원이엄마>, 로얄오페라단의 <카르멘> 등 오페라 공연과 특강 프로그램인 <오페라 4인 4색> 등 다양한 특별행사와 부대행사도 열린다. |

The opening event started off with a congratulatory speech by Designer Andre Kim on the stage, followed by a fabulous fashion show of 175 fashions on a total of 5 opera stages including ‘Casta Diva,’ from the Opera Norma and ‘Tales of Princess Turandot’. Especially, the highlight of the fashion show was the special appearance by famous Korean actress and actor, Chae Yeong Han and Su Jin Bae, who marked the finale.
Moreover, there was a surprise performance at the lobby by a male ensemble 1 cantanti who performed aria (Nessun Dorma) from Opera Turandot. He heightened the excitement prior to the actual performance and received a big applause from the audience.
“I am greatly honored that I was given this opportunity to design such an honorable event to open the door to the Daegu International Opera Festival. I’ve prepared the show with much excitement. I congratulate the opening of the 2009 Daegu International Opera Festival and sincerely hope that such good news would spread worldwide,” stated Designer Andre Kim.
Moreover, the 2009 Daegu International Opera Festival will unfold the opera festival for 44 days until October 31 under the theme, ‘Opera – Dreaming Challenge and Hope’.
Continuing the excitement of the festival from the ‘Opera In Fashion’, the ‘Opera Open Concert’ will feature the Korean Pops Orchestra on September 23rd at the Kaolin Open Air Music Hall. This event is free. Moreover, 5 opera performances will be staged one by one on the weekends. This year’s event includes “Turandot,” presented by Daegu International Opera Festival Organizing Committee and Daegu City Opera, Weber’s “Der Freischutz (The Freeshooter),” by the Karlsruhe National Theater from Germany, Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love),” collaboratively presented by the Daejeon Culture & Art Center, Daegu Opera House, and the Goyang Culture Foundation, “Won’s Mother,” an original domestic opera presented by the Pohang Opera House, and Bizet’s “Carmen,” presented by the Royal Opera Company. In addition to these opera performances, various special events and incidental events including a special lecture titled, “Opera: Four Persons, Four Colors” will be available. |
