경제프로그램 번역(한국어 원본)오늘날 세계의 모든 나라들은 경제살리기에 초점을 맞추어 지금의 경제위기에서 벗어나고자 노력하고 있다. 앞으로 우리나라 초등학생들이 살아갈 복잡하고 급변하는 세계는 어쩌면 미래예측이라는 측면에서는 무의미할지도 모른다. 하지만 지금까지의 경제교육만으로는 더욱 어두운 미래만 있을 뿐이다. 미래 사회에 대비하기 위한 교육은 합리적인 사고와 의식으로 자신들의 문제를 해결하며 자아 성취와 실현을 이룰 수 있도록 도와는 교육이 되어야 한다고 본다.
경제교육도 초등학생들이 미래에 접하게 될 다양한 경제 현상과 문제에 대해 합리적으로 의사결정을 내릴 수 있는 능력을 기르는데 도움을 줄 수 있어야 한다. 그것은 합리적 의사결정이 미래 사회의 가장 중요한 자산이기 때문이다. 그러나 현재 우리나라 초등학교에서는 합리적 의사결정을 키울 수 있는 경제교육이 미미한 실정이다.
본 연구에서는 그 대안으로 초등 경제교육 프로그램 중 하나인 SEC 프로그램을 도입하여 초등학생의 경제 개념 형성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보자 하였다. SEC 프로그램이란 교실을 하나의 작은 국가(사회)로 설정하고, 학생들이 교실 안에서 직접 경제주체로 활동․상호작용하며, 여러 가지 경제상황에 직면해서 의사결정을 하는 과정을 통하여 문제 해결 능력을 키우고, 경제개념을 자연스럽게 터득해 나가게 하는 경제 학습 방법이다.
SEC 프로그램이 초등학생 경제 개념 형성에 미치는 영향을 살피기 위하여 초등학교 6학년 학생을 대상으로 약 6개월 정도의 기간동안 30차시 분량의 SEC 프로그램을 적용한 수업을 적용하였으며, 참여관찰, 심층면담, 교사의 수업일지 작성, 설문조사, 학생들의 학습지와 소감문 작성, 강원에듀원 경제공부방 개설 등을 통해 자료를 수집․ 분석하였다.
본 연구를 통해서 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 기초경제개념 영역에서는 희소성과 경제 문제, 기회비용, 생산성과 분업, 자본주의와 소유권, 화폐라는 경제 개념이 잘 형성되어가고 있는 변화를 보였다.
둘째, 미시경제학 개념 영역에서는 수요와 공급, 시장과 가격, 소비, 생산, 이윤이라는 다소 어려운 경제 개념이 잘 형성되어가고 있음을 볼 수 있었다.
셋째, 거시경제학 개념 영역에서는 국민 소득 순환에 대한 개념을 잘 이해하였다.
넷째, 국제 경제학 개념 영역에서는 무역의 용어적 정의와 필요성을 인식하는 계기가 되었으며, 보호 무역 정책, 자유 무역 정책 등 최근에 자주 나오는 경제 문제에 대하여 생각해 보는 시간도 가질 수 있었다.
다섯째, 장미시티 활동 후 학생들의 경제개념 형성과 경제를 보는 전반적인 시각이 긍정적으로 변하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. |

Such effort may turn out to be futile in the future world- the world far more complicated and fast-changing – that today’s elementary school students will live in. Current education on economics, however, will not bring us bright future. In order to help prepare students for their future, school education should encourage students to think on their own and solve their problems so that they can have sense of achievement for themselves.
Same goes with economic education: it should help today’s elementary students to think logically and make a pragmatic decision regarding various economic phenomenon and issues they will face in the future. It is because making rational decision is the most important asset in the future society. Unfortunately, elementary schools have failed to provide such economic education that can help build student’s ability to make rational decisions.
This thesis is a study of an alternative economic education, SEC and the effect of SEC on formation of economic concept in elementary students. In SEC program, which is a teaching strategy for economic education, a class is assumed to be a nation and its students play independent economic bodies that interact with each other, form and develop their concepts of economy through decision-making process in many different economic situations within the nation (class).
To find out the effect of SEC program on the formation of economic concept, 6th graders in elementary schools were observed for 6 months through 30 lessons that adopted SEC program. Data were collected through in-class observations, in-depth interviews, teacher’s reports, surveys, students’ testimonials, study room observation and etc.
The result of data analysis is as follows.
1. The subjects developed basic economic concepts such as scarcity, economic problems, opportunity cost, productivity, division of labor, capitalism, ownership, currency and etc.
2. The subjects understood more difficult economic concepts in micro-economics such as demand and supply, market and price, consumption, production, and profit.
3. In the field of macro-economics, the subjects understood the concept of money circulation.
4. In the field of international economics, the subject came to the realization that they need to know the definition of economic terms and understand frequently- heard economic terms such as protectionism and free trade agreement.
