삼덕동 고려양봉원에서 금융결제원에 이르는 도로변 우측 골목에는 작은 옷가게들이 빽빽이 들어서 있는데 이 지점이 바로 대구에서 너무나도 유명한 보세옷 골목 ‘야시골목’이다.
경상도에서는 여우를 ‘야시’라고 부르는데, 멋을 부릴 줄 알고, 옷 잘 입는 여우같은 여자를 일컬을 때 ‘야시’라는 표현을 많이 쓴다. 즉 야시같은 아가씨들이 즐겨찾는 골목이라고 해서 붙여진 이름이다.
이 골목에는 많은 옷가게 들이 각자의 개성과 스타일로 다양하게 진열되어 있고, 저렴한 가격에 옷을 살 수 있기 때문에 인기를 모으고 있다.
사실 골목의 규모는 서울의 동대문시장이나 대단위 전문 쇼핑몰과 견주어 볼 때 작은 편이지만 이곳 제품의 대부분이 직접 생산하거나 혹은 서울의 동대문, 남대문 시장에서 곧바로 들여온 것이어서, 최신 유행을 선도할 뿐만 아니라, 야시라는 단어가 어울릴 만큼 감각적이고 개성이 강하기 때문에 쇼핑하는 재미가 있는 곳이다.
오후 1, 2시경에 문을 열고 오후 7시경이면 크게 붐비는 이곳은 최근 의류 외에도 악세사리, 구두, 화장품, 란제리 코너등이 생겨 종합패션상가로 변모해 가고 있으며 주위에 비디오방, 호프집, 노래방, 까페 등이 있어 쇼핑을 겸한 명소로 각광받고 있다.
(3)패션주얼리전문타운 -전국의 귀금속이 한자리에! 혼수예물의 메카!
대구 중구 동아백화점 앞에 있는 지하2층, 지상8층 규모의 ‘패션주얼리 전문타운’은 전국에서 유일하게 주얼리의 제조, 전시, 판매가 동시에 이루어지는 원스톱 시스템을 구축한 주얼리 복합센터이다.
1-2층은 귀금속 및 주얼리 판매와 전시
3-4층은 전시관, 체험과, 영상고나, 디자인 연구센터,
5-8층은 귀금속 제조업체가 입점하여 직접 생산을 하고 있다.
대구의 주얼리 제조기술 수준을 확인할 수 있는 곳으로 전국의 귀금속을 한자리에서 비교 평가할 수 있어 혼수예물을 준비하시는 분들에게 무척 좋은 장소이다.
(4)대구패션주얼리특구 -1970년부터 이어져 내려온 국내 유일 귀금속 특구지역.
– 현재의 대구패션주얼리특구는 1970년대 교동시장을 중심으로 한 시계매장들로부터 자생적으로 시작되었다.
시계수리와 중고제품 판매를 중심으로 상권을 형성하다가 70년대 중반부터는 순금, 18K 공장들이 하나씩 자리 잡았고, 1980년에 이르러 귀금속 골목으로서의 면모를 갖추기 시작해 제품의 제조, 생산, 유통단지로서의 입지를 다졌다.
오랜 동안 ‘교동귀금속거리’로 불리다가 2005년 ‘패션주얼리특구’로 지정 되었다.
대구경북 귀금속업체의 32%인 300여 업체가 이곳에 집중되어 있으며 연간 2000억원의 매출과 1000만달러의 수출실적을 올리고 있는 지역이다.
(5)대봉동 웨딩거리 -결혼준비를 위한 시작에서 끝까지
대구은행 대봉동지점에서 삼덕네거리 방향으로 가다보면 왕복 4차선 도로 양옆으로 웨딩샵과 한복전문점, 웨딩갤러리 등 결혼관련 업체가 줄을 지어 있는 모습을 볼 수 있는데 이곳이 바로 웨딩관련 업체들이 모여 특화된 [대봉동 웨딩거리]이다.
준비할 것이 많은 결혼의 특성상 자연 발생적으로 관련 업체들이 모여 조성된 이 길은 대구에 있는 웨딩거리 중 가장 전통을 자랑하는 곳이다.

(1) Nail art alley – reducing stress and enjoying youth~
The nail art alley right next to the Gallery Zone is between the Rodeo Street lined with various clothes shops, bars and restaurants, and the Yasi Alley.
As the Rodeo Street and the Yasi Alley are the fashion centers of Daegu frequented by young women, nail art shops, favored by young ladies, naturally began to move here one by one, and there are about 6 nail art shops along the 100m-long narrow street. There are many nail art shops in the vicinities as well, offering a wide range of choices.
It is a perfect place where you can de-stress with nail art while soaking in the young atmosphere.
(2) Yasi Alley – Fashion mecca of Daegu for practical stylists
The alley on the right-hand side off the road from the Goryeo Honey Shop in Samdeok-dong to Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute is jampacked with small clothing stores. This is the famous ‘Yasi Alley’ of Daegu.
In Gyeongsang Province, a fox is called ‘Yasi.’ It means a well-dressed foxlike woman who knows how to spruce up. That is, the alley is called Yasi Alley because Yasi-like (foxlike) ladies visit here often.
In the alley, a great variety of clothes are on display in stores with their own personality and style, and they are inexpensive at that. That’s why the Yasi Alley is so popular.
As a matter of fact, the Yasi Alley is smaller than the Dongdaemun Market in Seoul or large shopping malls, but most of the products sold here are produced directly here, or brought from the Dongdaemun and Namdaemun Market in Seoul. It not only leads the latest fashion, but also is sensible and has a strong personality. It is a fun place for shopping.
The shops open at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and they are crowded with people at 7 in the evening. As there are accessory, shoes, cosmetics and lingerie shops as well as clothing shops, it is changing into a general fashion shopping district, and as there are video rooms, beer halls, karaokes and cafes in the vicinities, the alley is in the limelight as a tourist attraction and a shopping district.
(3) Fashion jewelry town – Jewelry from around the country are all here! Mecca of wedding presents!
The ‘Fashion Jewelry Town’ with 2 underground levels and 8 stories above ground in front of Donga Department Store in Jung-gu, Daegu is the only jewelry complex in the country that has a one-stop system in which jewelry is manufactured, displayed and sold at the same time.
F1-2 are for sale and display of jewelry.
F3-4 are for exhibition, experience, video presentation, design and research.
Jewelry manufacturers are on F5-8.

(4) Daegu Fashion & Jewelry District – The only jewelry district in Korea that has been in existence since 1970.
– The current Daegu Fashion & Jewelry District came into being spontaneously in the 1970’s with the watch stores of the Gyodong market playing the central role.
The business district was developed with focus on watch repairs and sale of used products, and from the mid-1970’s, pure gold and 18K gold factories began to move in. In 1980 it began to look like a jewelry alley, and established itself as a district for the manufacturing, production and distribution of jewelry products.
The district used to be called the ‘Gyodong Jewelry Intersection’ for a long time, and was renamed the ‘Daegu Fashion & Jewelry District’ in 2005.
More than 300 jewelry shops, accounting for 32% of all jewelry shops in the Daegu-Northern Gyeongsang Province area, are concentrated here, and their combined sales and exports amount to KRW200 billion and $10 million.
(5) Daebong-dong wedding street – beginning and end of wedding preparations
Going from the Daebong-dong branch of Daegu Bank toward the Samdeok intersection, you will find wedding-related shops like wedding shops, Hanbok galleries and wedding galleries on either side of the 4-lane road. This is what they call the [Daebong-dong wedding street], a district of wedding shops.
As people have to buy a great variety of things for any wedding, related shops were gathered together spontaneously. This street has the longest tradition among wedding streets in Daegu.
Brides and bridegrooms come here on weekdays as well as on weekends to get pictures taken, and take a look at dresses and wedding gifts. You can get complicated wedding preparations done at once in one location.

The Daegu Fashion Fair, which began in 2006 when the knowledge-creative free economic zone was designated, is an international fashion event supported by the Government and the Daegu metropolitan government to support the Daegu textile and fashion industry and promote globalization.

An international fashion show hosted by the Korea Research Institute for Fashion Industry
The Korea Research Institute for Fashion Industry is a production technology research institute under the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. It was established with the aim of conducting R&D and providing support necessary for the technological innovation of the fashion and sewing industry, e.g. <provision of fashion trends and fashion design development support><hosting the Daegu Collection and national college student Fashion Show><supporting participation in foreign fashion shows and marketing support><R&D and manpower development><building the fashion resource center, the fashion library, and the creative design studio>. The Daegu Fashion Fair is an international fashion show that will allow you to take a look at everything about the Asian textile fashion in one location. 15,000 people, including fashion designers, marketers, and officials from the fashion industry and the cultural circles, attend the fair annually. It is a brand fair for finished fashion products that showcases brands leading the latest fashion trends, and provides an opportunity to share attractive fashion codes with designers.
(2)Daegu International Optical Show
It is the only optical show in Korea that has been held every year since 2001.
Its purpose is to identify new clients and expand export channels, and reinvigorate the domestic market.
In 2012 the Daegu International Optical Show was merged with EXPOLOOK, and became much bigger and diversified.

(3) Daegu fashion jewelry week
The wedding gift festival began in October 2004 to publicize and promote the Gyodong jewelry street, and the street was designated as the Daegu Fashion & Jewelry District in June 2005. To invigorate the festival, the festival was renamed the [Daegu fashion and jewelry festival], and became a new festival publicizing the district.
